Today we met at Lake Ella for a little walk around the lake and lunch at Mickey's Lakeside Cafe. This is a sweet little place with inside and outdoor seating. One of us had been here before but it was a first for the rest. First of all, it was the perfect Tallahasseee day, the reason why we live here! In the 70s, sunny with a little breeze off the lake. Since it was Springtime Tallahassee lots of people were out and about today. Got a charge out of two little elderly ladies taking their puppies for a walk in a puppy stroller?

The menu was one page with plenty of choices from daily soup specials to quiche, sandwiches and salads. You also have a nice choice of a few wines and beers, if desired. We opted for hot green teas, sweet tea and waters.

We all tried different things on  the menu- one had the Gazpacho which was delicious- described as fresh and flavorful. Another had the quiche of the day ( artichike and goat cheese) with a salad which was excellent. Both the chicken panini and California sandwich were tasty and yummy with sides of cole slaw and potato salad. To round out the offerings was the Lentil soup and house side salad with strawberries, pecan and the house dressing which is a balsamic with mustard. All and all the food was fresh, simple and satisfying.

Our server, a young man named Tim was very attentive and helpful even after he found out we all wanted separate tickets! This can annoy servers sometimes, so we were happy to see that he did not have an issue with us.

Will definitely go back again to try out some of the other items we didn't have a chance to try out!
